Indian River Hike
Yesterday I headed out with Adam Andis to hike up to the Indian River Falls. I have photographed the falls before a few times but this time I was looking to get on top of the waterfall and shoot down it. Since I landed in Alaska last week it has rained every day and has consistently been in the low 40s (not ideal for hikes) but yesterday the rain broke and we were able to get some light and blue skies (even though it did rain and hail a bit too…).
The following sequence focuses on light in the deep forest and the serenity of the Indian River. More to come.

Adam just purchased a portable jib and let me test it out.

08/30/2012Hi Ben. I live in Sitka with my husband Eric, our 1.5 year old son Ever and our blue heeler Willie. I found your blog through Raven Radio’s post of your photograph of the auroras from Harbor Mountain. My husband and I have spent a good bit of time on your blog last night and today. I can’t seem to find the words to express just how much I appreciate your work. I’ve said so many times that this beauty just can’t be captured through photographs. But you have succeeded. Absolutely incredible. Thank you!
