Founded by Ben Hamilton in 2008, Pioneer Videography is a video production company based in Washington, DC.
The company has grown rapidly to offer a wide array of services including corporate, commercial, narrative and documentary work. Driven by a passionate commitment to quality and community building, Pioneer Videography has dedicated many of its resources to non-profit work. Most recently, the company has partnered with the Sitka Conservation Society in South East Alaska to produce an environmental documentary about the fight to save Alaska’s vanishing wilderness.
Inspired by the epic movies of his childhood, founder Ben Hamilton grew up with a passion for art and film. Over the past eight years, he has expanded his passion and knowledge of the film and video industry, becoming skilled in non-linear editing, directing, cinematography and producing.
Ben began to translate his passion for film into a career while still in high school, founding his first company, Horizon Videos. In the years following he gained technical hands-on experience through internships and projects with companies including Match Frame Postproduction, Red Productions, and the Media Services Department at the University of Texas at Austin. Today Ben works across America and specializes in remote natural history filmmaking. Most recently he has worked with National Geographic Television and Red Rock Films filming wildlife in remote wilderness areas.
With his experience and knowledge Ben continues to improve his craft every year. His passion and dedication to social change makes him a unique creative leader in the industry. Ben is an innovative and dedicated storyteller who embeds his passion and experience through every aspect of the video process.
